Why this fund exists

Behaviour challenges in parrots can develop or escalate when guardians are unable to access professional guidance early. Unfortunately, financial barriers can prevent people from seeking help until situations become much more difficult - sometimes leading to rehoming, ongoing stress for the bird, or compromised welfare.

The Calliope Fund aims to remove some of those barriers by providing accessible support when it’s needed most.

​

Support through the Fund may include:

• Free or subsidised behaviour consultations

• Reduced-cost follow-up sessions

• Access to partner services such as veterinary checks, welfare exams, or respite boarding where available

• Collaborative support between Parrot Life and trusted veterinary or care partners
   

As part of our commitment to this initiative, Parrot Life consultants donate time and services to help support eligible clients through the program.

Eligibility: 

Calliope’s Fund is designed to support clients experiencing genuine financial hardship.

​

Applicants may be asked to provide evidence of eligibility, such as:

• Pension or concession cards

• Participation in government assistance programs

• Other documentation demonstrating financial need

In urgent welfare cases, support may also be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
